Q1. Please comment on the impact this activity has had on the pupils involved. The pupils gained experience in international and intercultural cooperation. They realized how young people, even though coming from different cultures and backgrounds still share many values and views of life and communication is effortless. They gained competence in English skills and became more confident in interacting in English and also in giving presentations in English. They were really excited about having the opportunity to practise giving a presentation in front of a big audience and they were happy to see that they can do it effortlessly. Especially Jaakko gained more motivation to learn more English as he said he struggled a bit with communication. For both the boys, the trip was also important what comes to gaining independence as they haven’t travelled that much.
